Ablo Doucouré
--
Abdoulaye (Ablo) leads the Strategic Planning/Technology Development programs at Donyatek, a startup which he co-founded in 2018 and established to supply clean water treatment systems in Mali - factories, cities, and essential services. Earlier, he directed technology programs in the R&D organization of Hollingsworth & Vose (Virginia, US, 2010/2021) and Pall Corporation (New York, US, 1998/2009), two global leading manufacturers of filtration and energy products. His key accomplishments include the development and commercialization of nonwoven air filters, wettable fluoropolymer membranes for the semiconductor industry, new protocols for fabricating/testing of synthetic membranes for bio-separation, and design of low-fouling nanofiltration membranes and modules for municipal water treatment. He is the inventor of 19 internationally patented technologies, has developed numerous trademarked filtration products and written about 50 technical publications. Ablo is past president of the African Membrane Society (2014/2021) and has been a committee member of the Filtration chapter for the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (USA) between 2012 and 2019. He is a research and teaching instructor at the Faculté des Sciences et Techniques (FST) and the Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs of Mali since 2006. Ablo has co-advised one doctoral thesis at Mali FST (Chemistry Department) defended in 2016. He is a founding member of and active contributor to the Malian Society of Applied Sciences http://www.msas.ml/ He holds a PhD in Materials Chemistry, earned at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, France.
